Episode 3 – Yes Sir, The Check Is In The Mail
July 3, 2008 - 2:34 am
This mess of a Stationary Joystick episode is what happens when you podcast to fill your quota (and really, a podcast “quota” is strange because most people podcast as a hobby and don’t need to fill a quota). Well, for better or for worse, here it is. Some things [crappily] covered in this episode:
- Vocaloid, the inexplicable fascination of every anime nerd. Seamless segue™ into a plug for Synthesia, formally known as Piano Hero.
- Madison, Wisconsin. Specifically, the Henry Vilas Zoo and State Street (also known as “tear gas alley” once a year).
- Short reviews of “WALL•E” and “Vantage Point”.
- Beijing Summer Olympics 2008. Or Something.
- Wow, this episode is bad. I even say that within the episode!
So, it’s obvious that I didn’t like this episode, but as always, your milage may very. This episode is 45 minutes long, and I bet at least 1/3 of that is comprised of the words “um” and “uh”.

Sweet theme song!
Audacity = ♥
You can cut/copy/paste to loop BGM in the same track…and you can copy from one track to another, so you can keep vocals in all one track if you like.
Hatsune Miku = ♥
Skilled users can eliminate most of the robotic tint of her songs. Especially since jpop stuff tends to be electronified anyway, it works rather well.
Actually I never heard of the Henry Vilas Zoo either…XD.
Yeah, I do since my mum’s drinks waaay too much diet coke. We tend to go with the blockbuster coupons; they’re the best deals. Slick though, I kind of want to fly a kite with friends now D=
Can’t hear the background music when you talk about it though. maybe need to play it louder or use headphones or something.
Johnny Five is alive! Hm, maybe I’ll have to check Wall-E out then.
Vantage point huh? There was a Farscape episode where the same event was explained by all the characters; the subtle differences were quite amusing.
