Episode 21 – Automata

January 30, 2010 - 2:48 pm No Comments

Welcome back to Stationary Joystick! This is a quick little episode recorded on a beautiful – but very cold – Saturday morning in Wisconsin. Topics:

  • Transferring schools sucks. Gen-eds, gen-eds, and more gen-eds…
  • Hong Kong vs. RAing. Can’t go wrong either way.
  • The Seventh Seal.
  • Automata exhibit. A poor attempt at explaining it. I guess I’m not very good at talking about art…

Like the oddly uncharacteristic consistency of episode output lately? So do I! That’s why I will continue to do it, even if the topics are rather inane. Stay tuned, and thanks for listening!

Episode 20 – Virtual Farming in Real-Life Wisconsin

January 17, 2010 - 9:16 pm No Comments

As promised, here is the second installment to complement the last episode of Stationary Joystick and hopefully fill you in a little more on what happened during the downtime. Actually, I kind of just start to ramble off about Winter Break topics right away, so a lot still needs to be said. This episode is almost an hour long, though, so quite a few things get discussed:

  • Opening song (if you can even hear it): Uyama Hiroto – “One Dream”
  • Video game talk! This podcast finally lives up to it’s name. Basically, all you need to know is that this is the list of the best video games ever: 1) Harvest Moon, 2) Marble Madness and 3) River City Ransom. Thank you and good night!
  • People who park in the driveway right against the garage door. Are they just inconsiderate or do they really not “get it”? Is this even worth mentioning?
  • Five Guys. Deliciousness. Also, State Street in Madison. And on that note, Chin’s is terrible.
  • Authentic Chinese food. This should be obvious, but it’s way better than American-Chinese food.
  • AT&T sucks. Or maybe it’s just my phone? Too bad I can’t upgrade anymore…

Episode 19 – The Brief Return

January 9, 2010 - 9:30 pm No Comments

Finally, a new episode of Stationary Joystick! No, it’s not dead. Yes, I wasn’t waiting with anticipation for the return either…Unfortunately this is a pretty short (25 min.) episode, so I didn’t get to talk about much. I’ve still got a lot of catching up to do with you the listener, so I’m hoping to record another one of these before the new semester starts. A few show notes:
